Clicks : 'Kundan' Jewellery

I love fine jewellery especially if it spells delicate and sexy at the same time. In India, Kundan jewellery is the most famous form of adornment that women love to wear to weddings or grand occasions. The jewellery compliments the traditional Indian outfits from sarees to salwaar kameez and hence is the best form of artistic detail to wear on any occasion.

The splendor and brilliance in this form of jewellery design comes to the forefront due to its intricacies and detailing in placing the kundan or gems in a framework of detail. A simple piece of design is created by carefully placing multicolored gemstones in gold or faux metal bases.

Here is a look at some of my clicks depicting this age old form of jewellery in India.

Below is a well crafted artisan motif in green emeralds, white opal and red ruby gemstones placed on a bed of gold plated intricate framework and design, a classic piece to bring out the diva in you.
An embellished pair of earrings in emerald and ruby to contrast the diamond setting against the brass framework, finished with a gem drop.
A striking gold framework embellishes the ruby stones of this delicate yet artistic floral motif pendant in rubies and white gems.
Finally, below is a beautiful pair of 'kundan' earrings with cut drops and ruby stones against a gold framework within intricate array of geometric cut and design.
