Slim is In


The New Year has dawned on us and while most are busy making obsolescent and impractical new year resolutions, here is one that you can plan and stick to this time. All of us at some point in our lives wish to look slim and trim. But contrary to myth, slimming down is not starving your body of nutrition. Slimming is a process of controlling your fat intake and burning fat by diet and exercise. Obesity is a global issue and if you consider yourself obese, then do something about it this year. The epidemic of obesity is catching up with us due to our estranged lifestyles and corrupt habits. It is time to get you on the control crusade of sugary offerings and prevention is always the cure.


Shedding undesirable pounds are always proportional to diet and exercise. The direct relationship they share distinct one from obesity. If your loved ones have not already tried it, counseling is the simplest way to be aware of the situation you are getting into. Eat less and exercise more is the best advice to take. The right balance is struck when you eat the right foods and exercise.

Needless to say, the consumption of red meat is a no-no. For die hard meat lovers, stick to lean fat and limit your intake on salt and starch. Ideally, a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, fish, egg whites, skinless poultry and non-fat diary products aid in the mission of losing weight. Drink more water. Avoid sugary drinks. Indulge in good physical activity. A brisk walk can be quiet effective. Always try to incorporate exercise on a daily basis.

A great way to slim down is to get rid of the “white” food and replace with foods rich in fiber and whole grains. Contrary to most beliefs, skipping meals is never the solution to slimming. The only way to lose weight safely and to keep it off is to modify your eating habits, and then ensure that those new, healthier eating habits become a way of life. There’s no point in embracing strict measure that prevent you from living life to the fullest. After all, food is there to be enjoyed. You need a way of eating where you can eat out with friends, socialize without having to forego the meal.

This new year commit to taking care of your body as much as it takes care of your living. Treat it with respect and follow a diet rich in fiber. At the end of the year, watch yourself transform into a healthier and fitter being.
